Hotels in Tampaa family-friendly 4-star all-suite resort on Clearwater Bay, not directly on the beach
8.5/10
A strong family pick for suite space and pool days, not doorstep beach access.
This 4-star all-suite resort on Sand Key is a strong pick for families who want separate living and sleeping areas, bay views and plenty of pool time. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the welcoming staff, while cleanliness scores are strong across booking sites. A renovation completed in 2025 refreshed guestrooms and event spaces, though it hasn't erased every sign of wear. The waterfall pool, children's activities and complimentary beach transport give it real family appeal.
The important catch: it's on Clearwater Bay, not the Gulf beach; reaching Sand Key's sand means a walk or shuttle ride. Recent Tripadvisor reviews also flag lingering maintenance issues and busy, sometimes noisy pool and breakfast periods. Resort fees and paid parking add friction. We'd choose it for a family-focused stay, but skip it for direct beachfront access or a reliably quiet couples' escape.

Best for: families wanting separate living space; pool-focused vacations; travelers happy with beach transport
Watch out for: bayside location, not directly beachfront; resort fee and paid parking; busy family pool and breakfast periods
Location: On Sand Key in Clearwater Beach, not Tampa; Sand Key beach requires a walk or complimentary ride.
Rooms: Two-room suites offer useful space; refreshed in 2025, with some recent reports of lingering wear and maintenance faults.
Cleanliness: Strong overall ratings and frequent housekeeping praise outweigh scattered recent lapses.
Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a consistent strength, although some guests report waits at reception and poolside.
Amenities: Waterfall pool, children's pool and activities, spa, gym, restaurants and complimentary Jolley Trolley access.
Fees and surprises: Budget for a resort fee and parking; breakfast inclusion depends on the booking.
