Axel's take: 8.3/10

A strong choice for suite space and location, rather than fresh interiors. a mid-range, all-suite hotel just off the Magnificent Mile, scored for what it is.

This mid-range, all-suite Hilton is a strong pick for travelers who want room to spread out near Michigan Avenue and the lakefront. Separate bedrooms and living areas make it especially practical for families. Tripadvisor and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise the spacious suites and convenient location, while Expedia’s strong cleanliness and service ratings support the generally positive picture. We'd choose it for space and walkability rather than style.

The main compromise is age: dated decor and uneven upkeep recur in reviews, although most guests still describe comfortable, clean rooms. Breakfast and parking cost extra, and self-parking is offsite. Hilton currently advertises the top-floor indoor pool; management reported it reopened after an August 2026 repair, but previous closures make checking worthwhile. Skip it if contemporary interiors or a guaranteed swimming routine are priorities.

• Best for: families wanting separate living space; shopping and lakefront weekends; travelers prioritizing walkability

• Watch out for: dated decor and uneven upkeep; extra charges for breakfast and parking; check pool availability before arrival

• Location: Beside the former John Hancock Center, close to Michigan Avenue, Water Tower Place and the lakefront.

• Rooms: Spacious two-room suites with comfortable beds; decor and lighting can feel dated.

• Cleanliness: Generally a strength across major sites, despite occasional housekeeping complaints.

• Service: Mostly friendly and helpful, with some reports of inconsistent front-desk and restaurant service.

• Amenities: Top-floor indoor pool and gym, plus Chapel Street restaurant; past pool interruptions warrant checking.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast, parking and pets carry extra charges; valet is onsite, self-parking offsite.
