Axel's take: 7.9/10

A strong Loop base for practical stays, but rooms lack four-star polish. a practical 4-star business hotel in Chicago’s Loop, scored for what it is.

Club Quarters Central Loop is a practical 4-star business hotel whose location and useful extras outweigh its lack of polish. It’s a strong pick for solo work trips or sightseeing without a car, with trains, Willis Tower and the Art Institute within easy reach. Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise cleanliness and helpful staff; complimentary coffee, refillable water stations and the attached Elephant & Castle pub add everyday convenience.

The compromise is the room: smaller categories can feel tight, and dated furnishings recur in Tripadvisor and Trip.com feedback. Don’t assume a refrigerator is included, and parking means a paid garage nearby rather than valet. Forbes reports an apartment conversion in the hotel’s Clark Adams Building; check current construction disruption before booking. We’d skip it for a spacious, polished luxury stay.

• Best for: solo business travelers; car-free sightseeing; travelers prioritizing location over polish

• Watch out for: compact rooms and dated furnishings; refrigerators not standard; Clark Adams Building apartment-conversion work

• Location: Convenient Loop base for transit, offices, Willis Tower and the Art Institute.

• Rooms: Comfortable enough for practical stays, but smaller categories and aging decor limit appeal.

• Cleanliness: Generally a strength across guest feedback, despite occasional housekeeping complaints.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff receive consistent praise across several review sites.

• Amenities: Gym, guest lounge, complimentary coffee, water stations and attached Elephant & Castle pub.

• Fees and surprises: Paid off-site parking, no valet; confirm refrigerator availability and current building-conversion disruption.
