Axel's take: 8.8/10

A stylish, dependable Loop base, especially handy for Union Station and Willis Tower. a design-led 4-star in a historic Loop building, scored for what it is.

This historic 4-star delivers more character than the standard downtown chain hotel. We'd pick it for its thoughtfully designed rooms and practical location across from Willis Tower, with Union Station and the L close by. Recent Tripadvisor, Expedia and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise cleanliness, spacious rooms and helpful staff. Seville's rooftop restaurant adds an appealing evening option.

The trade-off is the business-district setting: nearby dining thins out on weekends, and some guests notice passing trains. Parking is expensive, breakfast costs extra, and Hilton food-and-beverage credits cannot be used at Seville. New management announced meeting-space and dining updates in October 2026; check work schedules before booking. It's a strong choice for business trips and rail arrivals; we'd look elsewhere for lively nightlife immediately outside.

• Best for: business travelers in the Loop; Union Station arrivals; couples who appreciate distinctive design

• Watch out for: limited nearby weekend dining; passing-train noise in some rooms; announced meeting-space and dining updates

• Location: Across from Willis Tower, near the L and an easy walk from Union Station; less lively on weekends.

• Rooms: Stylish, generally spacious rooms with thoughtful fittings; occasional noise and temperature-control complaints.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent guest feedback, despite isolated housekeeping misses.

• Service: Usually friendly and helpful, with occasional front-desk and café inconsistencies.

• Amenities: Fitness center, complimentary bikes, free Wi-Fi and rooftop Seville restaurant.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast and parking cost extra; no valet; Hilton dining credits exclude Seville. Update schedules remain unconfirmed.
