Axel's take: 7.5/10

A practical central base whose staff and rooftop outshine its aging rooms. an aging five-star business hotel in central Casablanca, scored for what it is.

Mövenpick Casablanca is a five-star business hotel we'd choose for convenience rather than polished luxury. Its central location beside the tram makes getting around straightforward, and the rooftop pool and restaurant give it a genuine advantage. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the welcoming staff; Booking.com guests also rate service above the facilities.

The rooms are the catch: recent guests across sites describe tired interiors, while Accor's latest reviews flag uneven check-in and missing bathroom basics. Cleanliness earns broadly positive ratings, but the overall finish falls short of five-star expectations. August 2026 trade reporting described a planned full renovation, without confirming a construction timetable. Ask about works and spa availability before booking. It's a sensible short-stay or business base; we'd skip it for a special-occasion luxury stay or if traffic noise would spoil your sleep.

• Best for: business travelers; short city stays; travelers prioritizing tram access

• Watch out for: dated rooms and uneven finishing; traffic noise at the busy intersection; confirm renovation plans and spa availability

• Location: Central business-district setting with convenient tram access, rather than a seaside resort location.

• Rooms: Comfort scores are good, but dated interiors and inconsistent bathroom preparation recur in recent feedback.

• Cleanliness: Generally well rated across booking sites, though recent Accor feedback is less consistent.

• Service: Warm, helpful staff attract frequent praise; reception and attention to basics can be uneven.

• Amenities: Rooftop pool, restaurant and gym are draws; one March 2026 guest reported the spa closed, so reconfirm.

• Fees and surprises: City tax applies; breakfast, transfers and early check-in can cost extra. Expedia lists free parking.
