Axel's take: 7.7/10

A useful central base, but room upkeep falls short of four-star polish. a practical downtown 4-star with uneven room upkeep, scored for what it is.

Kenzi Basma is a practical downtown 4-star, strongest as a base for exploring Casablanca rather than a hotel to linger in. The medina, Art Deco streets and tram stops are within walking distance. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, while recent reviews also highlight comfortable beds and spacious rooms. It's a good pick for a short city stay if location matters more than polished interiors.

The trade-off is inconsistency. Across Tripadvisor, Expedia and Trip.com, guests describe tired furnishings, leaking showers and occasional cleaning lapses, despite generally positive cleanliness ratings. Breakfast earns both enthusiastic praise and complaints about quality and organization. Management mentioned a room-refresh program in November 2025, but a completed overhaul isn't established. We'd skip it if you expect reliably immaculate rooms and seamless four-star service.

• Best for: short city sightseeing stays; business travelers prioritizing location; travelers comfortable with dated interiors

• Watch out for: uneven maintenance and housekeeping; variable breakfast quality; patchy in-room Wi-Fi reports

• Location: Central and walkable for the medina, Art Deco district and nearby tram stops.

• Rooms: Comfort and space draw praise; worn furnishings and shower leaks recur in reviews.

• Cleanliness: Generally positive ratings, but repeated room and crockery-cleaning lapses weaken consistency.

• Service: Helpful staff are a recurring strength, though some guests report poor problem handling.

• Amenities: Restaurants, bar, free Wi-Fi, meeting facilities and private parking cover city-stay basics.

• Fees and surprises: Expedia lists free parking; breakfast and airport transfers cost extra unless included.
