Axel's take: 8.1/10

A comfortable city base with strong housekeeping, but not a poolside retreat. a central 4-star business and tour-group hotel, scored for what it is.

Idou Anfa is a central 4-star business and tour-group hotel that makes a strong base for a short Casablanca stay. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise clean, modern rooms and helpful restaurant staff, while restaurants and shops are conveniently close. The 16th-floor Panoramic restaurant adds ocean and Hassan II Mosque views. We'd choose it for practical comfort rather than boutique character.

The trade-offs are uneven reception service, some very firm beds and a dining room that can get noisy with groups. Breakfast earns both enthusiastic and lukewarm reviews. The pool is small, and October guests describe chilly water; earlier 2026 closures are not evidence of a current shutdown. We'd skip it for a swimming-focused holiday or intimate luxury, and note that Trip.com lists the property as alcohol-free.

• Best for: short city breaks; business travelers; organized-tour stopovers

• Watch out for: tour-group bustle at meals; small pool with variable water temperature; alcohol-free property

• Location: Central Boulevard d'Anfa setting, convenient for nearby restaurants, shops and business appointments.

• Rooms: Generally modern and comfortable; room sizes vary, and several guests find the beds very firm.

• Cleanliness: A recurring strength in recent reviews across Expedia, Tripadvisor and Trip.com.

• Service: Restaurant staff attract consistent praise; reception and room-allocation handling are less reliable.

• Amenities: Small pool, spa, gym and panoramic restaurant; recent guests confirm pool use after earlier closures.

• Fees and surprises: City tax applies; breakfast, spa treatments and airport transfers can cost extra; confirm meal inclusions.
