Axel's take: 8.4/10

A strong city base with welcoming staff, but quiet rooms matter here. A modern five-star city hotel on busy Boulevard d’Anfa, scored for what it is.

Barceló Anfa Casablanca is a modern five-star city hotel that makes a strong base for business or sightseeing. Its clearest strengths are comfortable rooms, breakfast and welcoming staff: recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise all three. Cleanliness earns consistently good marks, while the outdoor pool, gym and spa add useful downtime between outings. We'd choose it for a comfortable central stay rather than a secluded luxury escape.

The main compromise is noise. Several guests report boulevard traffic, and an August 2026 review describes nearby building construction; ask whether that work continues and request a quieter room. Occasional air-conditioning and housekeeping lapses also temper the five-star promise. The official website flags a January–February pool closure for improvements without specifying the year, so confirm before a winter booking. We'd skip it if silence or guaranteed swimming is essential.

• Best for: Business travelers wanting a central base; Couples combining sightseeing and pool time; Travelers who prioritize helpful staff

• Watch out for: Traffic noise in boulevard-facing rooms; Nearby construction reported in August 2026; January–February pool-closure notice; year unspecified

• Location: Central Boulevard d’Anfa, with restaurants nearby and city sights accessible on foot or by taxi.

• Rooms: Generally comfortable and well liked; request a quieter room, with occasional air-conditioning faults reported.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback, although some guests describe missed housekeeping replenishments.

• Service: Warm, helpful staff are a recurring highlight; occasional check-in and follow-through problems remain.

• Amenities: Outdoor pool, gym, spa and well-reviewed breakfast; confirm the undated winter pool-closure notice.

• Fees and surprises: Official site lists free parking; breakfast depends on the package, and airport transfers cost extra.
