The Commodore is a traditional 4-star hotel whose biggest selling point is being a short walk from the V&A Waterfront. We'd pick it for convenient sightseeing rather than contemporary style: the nautical decor feels old-fashioned, but recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise comfortable beds, clean rooms, helpful staff and the generous breakfast buffet. It's a strong option for first-time visitors who want restaurants and attractions close by.

The trade-offs are aging room fittings, recurring complaints about noisy air-conditioning and occasional slow service, especially at breakfast. Renovation noise also appears in June and July 2026 reviews; we couldn't confirm whether that work has finished, so check before booking.
