#4 of 4 hotels in Century City by Axel's take. Century City is #7 of 8 places to stay in Cape Town. The best hotels in Century City, ranked · Where to stay in Cape Town

Axel's take: 7.3/10

Generous apartment space beside Canal Walk, but upkeep and housekeeping need more consistency. a 4-star self-catering aparthotel in Century City, scored for what it is.

The Residences at Crystal Towers is a 4-star self-catering aparthotel rather than a full-service luxury hotel. We'd consider it for Century City business trips or family stays where space and a kitchen matter more than polished service. Guests across Booking.com, Tripadvisor and Agoda repeatedly praise the roomy apartments, views and easy walk to Canal Walk; free parking adds practical value.

The catch is consistency. Alongside enthusiastic recent reviews, guests on several sites report tired furniture, worn towels, missed cleaning and slow responses to requests. Those are meaningful shortcomings for this class, not just cosmetic quibbles. Confirm that your booking stays in Crystal Towers, as some guests report being moved elsewhere, and verify pool access rather than trusting photos. We'd skip it for a pampered getaway or sightseeing mainly on foot in central Cape Town.

  • Best for: Century City business travelers; families wanting self-catering space; longer stays with a car

  • Watch out for: uneven housekeeping and maintenance; reported moves to other properties; pool access needs confirmation

  • Location: Walkable to Canal Walk and convenient for Century City; central Cape Town sightseeing requires transport.

  • Rooms: Spacious studios and multi-bedroom apartments with kitchens; furnishings and equipment show uneven upkeep.

  • Cleanliness: Many guests find apartments clean, but recent reports of dirty surfaces and worn linen recur across sites.

  • Service: Staff often earn praise for friendliness; check-in delays and unanswered requests also recur.

  • Amenities: Kitchens, Wi-Fi and free parking are useful; do not assume neighboring hotel leisure facilities are included.

  • Fees and surprises: Airport transfers cost extra; confirm the exact building and included facilities before arrival.
