#8 of 9 hotels in Sea Point & Bantry Bay by Axel's take. Sea Point & Bantry Bay is #4 of 8 places to stay in Cape Town. The best hotels in Sea Point & Bantry Bay, ranked · Where to stay in Cape Town

Axel's take: 7.8/10

Choose it for Sea Point convenience and warm service, not consistently modern rooms. a traditional 4-star near Sea Point’s promenade, scored for what it is.

Premier is a traditional 4-star just back from Sea Point’s promenade: a good sightseeing base rather than a luxury seaside retreat. We'd choose it for oceanfront walks, nearby restaurants and the staff, whose helpfulness stands out across Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor. Cleanliness is generally well rated, and booking a sea-view category makes the most of the setting.

The catch is uneven room quality. Management says the main building was refurbished in 2024, while a March 2026 Expedia guest still found the rear building noticeably less appealing. Ask for a refurbished main-building room. Recent Tripadvisor guests also report noisy air-conditioning, and the tucked-away pool is less compelling than the seafront location suggests. We'd skip it if uniformly fresh interiors, quiet cooling or poolside lounging are priorities.

  • Best for: sightseers wanting a Sea Point base; couples who enjoy promenade walks; travelers who value friendly service

  • Watch out for: uneven condition between buildings; noisy air-conditioning in some rooms; pool tucked away from the seafront

  • Location: Steps from the promenade and near restaurants; a convenient base for sightseeing by taxi.

  • Rooms: Some compact rooms; request a refurbished main-building room and book sea views explicitly.

  • Cleanliness: Generally strong guest ratings, though individual recent complaints show some inconsistency.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful staff are the clearest recurring strength across review sites.

  • Amenities: Outdoor pool, restaurant, bar and free Wi-Fi; better suited to exploring than resort-style lounging.

  • Fees and surprises: Expedia lists free parking and a charged airport shuttle; check whether breakfast is included.
