Axel's take: 8.3/10

A strong sightseeing base with clean rooms, excellent transport and a few basic-hotel compromises. a no-frills 3-star in central Budapest, scored for what it is.

This no-frills 3-star gets the city-break essentials right: a central Ráday Street address beside Kálvin tér, comfortable beds and generally clean rooms. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the helpful reception team, while Booking.com’s strongest marks go to location. It’s a strong pick for travelers who want restaurants, sights and public transport close by rather than extensive hotel facilities.

The compromises are compact standard rooms and limited extras. More importantly, several summer 2026 guests on Accor’s site report weak air-conditioning, so we’d hesitate if sleeping cool is essential. Despite garden listings elsewhere, management confirms the garden is not open to guests. Breakfast and parking cost extra unless included in your booking. Choose it for convenient, straightforward comfort; skip it if you want spacious rooms or somewhere to spend lazy afternoons.

• Best for: couples on sightseeing breaks; travelers using public transport; value-minded city explorers

• Watch out for: compact standard rooms; recurring summer air-conditioning complaints; garden not open to guests

• Location: Beside Kálvin tér transport links, with restaurants nearby and an easy walk to the Great Market Hall.

• Rooms: Simple standard rooms start at 15 square meters; beds earn praise, but summer cooling draws repeated complaints.

• Cleanliness: Consistently positive overall across Booking.com, Tripadvisor and Expedia, despite occasional housekeeping lapses.

• Service: Reception staff are repeatedly praised for friendliness, helpful advice and smooth check-in.

• Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, buffet breakfast and a bar; management confirms the advertised garden is unavailable to guests.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast, indoor parking and pets carry extra charges; the garage has only 20 spaces.
