#5 of 9 hotels in Lipótváros & Parliament by Axel's take. Lipótváros & Parliament is #1 of 8 places to stay in Budapest. The best hotels in Lipótváros & Parliament, ranked · Where to stay in Budapest

Axel's take: 8.8/10

A strong sightseeing base, with clean rooms and deliberately simple comforts. a modern, no-frills 3-star in central Pest, scored for what it is.

H2 Hotel Budapest is a modern, no-frills 3-star whose central Pest location makes it a strong pick for sightseeing. It became Danubius Hotel District V on October 1, 2026. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise the cleanliness, helpful staff and breakfast, while Tripadvisor reviewers particularly like being close to the Basilica and major sights. We'd choose it for a short city break rather than hotel-based relaxation.

The main compromise is the stripped-back room setup: guests repeatedly mention no fridge or kettle, limited storage and showers offering little privacy, although toilets are separate. Some recent reviewers also report rooms running warm despite air conditioning. Skip it if you want generous space or a fully enclosed bathroom. Most available feedback predates the operator change, so the strong track record is better established than the new management.

Best for: couples on sightseeing breaks; travelers prioritizing cleanliness and location; families comfortable with bunk-bed rooms
Watch out for: limited shower privacy; no in-room fridge or kettle reported; some reports of overly warm rooms
Location: Central District V, close to the Basilica, Danube and several metro connections.
Rooms: Modern and functional rather than spacious; balcony upgrades and four-person bunk rooms are available.
Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Expedia and recent Tripadvisor feedback.
Service: Guests regularly praise helpful staff; feedback under the new operator remains limited.
Amenities: Buffet breakfast, Wi-Fi, air conditioning and an underground garage with two EV chargers.
Fees and surprises: Now Danubius Hotel District V; parking and pets cost extra, and current checkout is 11 a.m.
