#2 of 8 hotels in City Park & Heroes' Square by Axel's take. City Park & Heroes' Square is #8 of 8 places to stay in Budapest. The best hotels in City Park & Heroes' Square, ranked · Where to stay in Budapest

Axel's take: 8.9/10

A characterful, well-kept boutique base, provided you’re happy taking the metro downtown. a 4-star boutique hotel in a historic villa near Heroes’ Square, scored for what it is.

Alice is a 4-star boutique hotel in a nineteenth-century villa on Andrássy Avenue, and a strong pick for travelers who prefer character and calmer surroundings to a downtown doorstep. Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor guests consistently praise cleanliness, comfortable rooms and helpful staff. Breakfast earns plenty of approval, while the garden terrace and restaurant give this small hotel more appeal than somewhere simply to sleep. Heroes’ Square and City Park are nearby, with the M1 handy for central sights.

The main compromise is location: expect a substantial walk to the busiest downtown areas, rather than everything immediately outside. Room categories deserve attention, too: Booking.com sells basement accommodation, and some guests find rooms compact. Several reviewers dislike the lower-ground breakfast room, although terrace seating helps in good weather. We’d skip it if nightlife on the doorstep or reliably spacious rooms are priorities.

  • Best for: couples seeking a quieter city break; museum and City Park visitors; travelers comfortable using the metro

  • Watch out for: a substantial walk to downtown; basement rooms among the options; lower-ground breakfast room

  • Location: Near Heroes’ Square and City Park; convenient M1 access offsets the distance from downtown.

  • Rooms: Stylish, air-conditioned rooms with coffee machines; size and floor level vary by category.

  • Cleanliness: A clear strength across booking sites and recent guest accounts.

  • Service: Mostly warm and helpful, with occasional reports of indifferent service or slower check-in.

  • Amenities: Restaurant, bar, garden terrace and Wi-Fi; breakfast is generally well received.

  • Fees and surprises: Check whether breakfast is included; pets incur an extra charge, and some rooms are sold as basement accommodation.
