Axel's take: 8.0/10

A useful downtown base with roomy suites, friendly staff and some housekeeping inconsistencies. a practical 3-star extended-stay hotel near UAB, scored for what it is.

This 3-star extended-stay hotel is a strong pick for UAB visits, family stopovers and baseball at Regions Field. The appeal is practical: spacious suites with kitchenettes, included breakfast, and Railroad Park nearby. Recent Expedia and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise helpful staff and clean rooms, while the outdoor pool and gym round out a useful mid-range package.

The reservation is consistency rather than a lack of amenities. Alongside the positive majority, Tripadvisor and other recent guest reviews describe missed bathroom cleaning, stained seating and worn or poorly maintained room fittings. Self-parking costs extra, and pets bring an additional fee. We'd choose it for space and convenience rather than polish; skip it if immaculate room condition is your priority.

• Best for: UAB and hospital visitors; families wanting kitchenettes; longer downtown stays

• Watch out for: paid self-parking; uneven housekeeping and room upkeep; additional pet fees

• Location: Convenient for UAB, Railroad Park and Regions Field, with dining nearby.

• Rooms: Spacious suites with kitchenettes; some guests report worn seating and maintenance lapses.

• Cleanliness: Mostly praised, but repeated bathroom and upholstery complaints show uneven execution.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring strength across recent reviews.

• Amenities: Included breakfast and Wi-Fi, outdoor pool, fitness center and guest laundry.

• Fees and surprises: Self-parking and pets cost extra; Hilton lists parking as uncovered and unsecured.
