Axel's take: 8.3/10

A dependable Hoover base, but check the pool before booking. a full-service 3-star in suburban Hoover, scored for what it is.

This full-service 3-star is a strong pick for Hoover business trips, shopping and tournament weekends. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms and welcoming staff, and recent reviews generally support the hotel's refreshed appearance. Free parking, an on-site restaurant and easy access to Riverchase Galleria make it a practical, comfortable base if you're driving.

The main caution is the indoor pool: an Expedia guest staying in October 2026 reported it closed for repairs, despite IHG still advertising it. Confirm reopening before promising the kids a swim. Breakfast isn't automatically included, and guest feedback on mattresses ranges from comfortable to too firm or squeaky. Some also report noisy neighbors. We'd choose it for straightforward suburban convenience, but skip it for a walkable Birmingham city break or a pool-dependent family stay without confirmation.

• Best for: Hoover business travelers; tournament families with a car; shopping weekends

• Watch out for: Indoor pool reported closed in October 2026; Breakfast may cost extra; Mixed mattress comfort and occasional guest noise

• Location: Convenient for Riverchase Galleria and Hoover Met trips; better suited to drivers than a downtown sightseeing stay.

• Rooms: Generally clean and well maintained, though mattress comfort divides guests and some report neighboring-room noise.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com and recent Expedia reviews.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff receive frequent praise; occasional complaints concern problem handling.

• Amenities: Restaurant, bar, gym and Wi-Fi; confirm the indoor pool has reopened after reported repairs.

• Fees and surprises: Parking is free; check breakfast inclusion, and expect an incidental deposit.
