Its strongest assets are the walkable location, helpful staff and breakfast buffet, which earns repeated praise on Expedia and Tripadvisor. Bryggen and the fish market are around 10–15 minutes away on foot. We'd consider it for a short sightseeing stay, provided you're comfortable with a fairly basic room.
The catch is inconsistency. Recent guests describe both clean, comfortable rooms and cramped, worn alternatives, particularly in the separate building across the street from reception and breakfast.
