#8 of 8 hotels in Holetown & the West Coast by Axel's take. Holetown & the West Coast is #4 of 6 places to stay in Barbados. The best hotels in Holetown & the West Coast, ranked · Where to stay in Barbados

Axel's take: 7.6/10

Good space and west-coast access, but choose your particular apartment carefully. a mid-range self-catering apartment complex near Barbados’s west-coast beaches, scored for what it is.

Lantana is a mid-range, gated apartment complex in Weston, not a full-service beach resort. We'd consider it for a self-catering family holiday: kitchens, generous balconies and two shared pools make a practical base, with beaches a short walk away. Expedia guests and Booking.com reviewers of individual apartments often praise the space, peaceful setting and convenience of nearby buses.

The catch is consistency. Apartments are individually owned, and reviews across Expedia and Tripadvisor describe uneven upkeep, with some dated furnishings, faulty appliances and cleaning complaints alongside many happy stays. Confirm the exact unit, current photos and housekeeping arrangements rather than booking on the complex's name alone. We'd skip it for dependable hotel-style service or step-free access: there are no elevators.

Best for: families wanting self-catering space; friends sharing an apartment; independent west-coast explorers
Watch out for: condition varies between apartments; no elevators; near the beach, not beachfront
Location: Weston base with beaches and buses nearby; shopping and wider dining options require a trip.
Rooms: Spacious layouts and balconies are strengths; furnishings, appliances and air-conditioning coverage vary by unit.
Cleanliness: Positive overall, but cleaning complaints recur enough to check recent reviews of the exact apartment.
Service: Helpful staff receive praise, though communication and problem handling are inconsistent.
Amenities: Two shared outdoor pools, equipped kitchens, free parking and advertised Wi-Fi; housekeeping arrangements vary.
Fees and surprises: Confirm deposit, local tax and service charges; the supplied website belongs to a different Lantana in Sardinia.
