Axel's take: 7.2/10

Good for a casino getaway, but room choice and housekeeping can make or break it. a large 4-star casino resort in Atlantic City’s Marina District, scored for what it is.

Harrah’s is a sprawling 4-star casino resort in the Marina District, better suited to a self-contained gambling weekend than a beach trip. It’s a good pick with reservations: the indoor pool, restaurants and nightlife give you reasons to stay on-site, and recent Expedia guests frequently praise clean, comfortable rooms and helpful staff. We’d favor the Waterfront Tower, which gets stronger recent feedback than some older room categories.

Consistency is the weakness. Tripadvisor and Trip.com guests repeatedly describe missed housekeeping, worn rooms and smoke odors, although plenty report trouble-free stays. The location also means arranging transport to the beach and Boardwalk rather than stepping outside onto them. Factor in resort fees, paid parking and a deposit, and check pool age rules and evening admission before booking. We’d skip it for dependable luxury or a beach-first vacation.

  • Best for: casino-focused weekend trips; couples interested in pools and nightlife; travelers happy to stay on-site

  • Watch out for: uneven room condition and housekeeping; smoke odors, including some nonsmoking-room reports; off-Boardwalk location and extra charges

  • Location: Marina District setting; plan transport for beach and Boardwalk visits.

  • Rooms: Waterfront Tower earns stronger recent feedback; wear and comfort vary by room category.

  • Cleanliness: Many clean-room reports, but missed cleaning and bathroom issues recur across sites.

  • Service: Helpful staff receive frequent praise; check-in and problem handling are less consistent.

  • Amenities: Casino, indoor pool, spa, gym, restaurants and nightlife; confirm pool age rules and sessions.

  • Fees and surprises: Nightly resort and tourism fees, paid parking and a deposit; evening pool admission can cost extra.
