Axel's take: 7.5/10

A good Boardwalk base, but choose your tower carefully and expect extras. a large 4-star Boardwalk casino hotel, scored for what it is.

Caesars is a large 4-star casino hotel on the Boardwalk: a good pick for gambling, restaurant nights and easy beach access, rather than consistently polished luxury. We'd favor the renovated Centurion or Ocean Tower rooms. Recent guests frequently praise comfortable beds, spacious rooms and the location; Expedia feedback is generally positive about cleanliness and staff. Nobu, Hell's Kitchen and the on-site spa give adults reasons to stay on property.

The trade-offs are uneven housekeeping and problem handling, cigarette smells and some less appealing rooms, including inward-facing ones overlooking the lobby. Check the tower, view and smoking designation before booking. Resort fees, paid parking and pool seating charges add friction. The outdoor pool is seasonal, restricted to guests aged 21-plus and closed for the season in October. We'd skip Caesars for a smoke-free retreat or a family swimming holiday.

  • Best for: casino weekends for adults; Boardwalk and beach access; restaurant and show trips

  • Watch out for: room quality and views vary by tower; cigarette smells and uneven housekeeping; extra charges and a seasonal adults-only pool

  • Location: Direct Boardwalk access, with the beach and Boardwalk Hall close by.

  • Rooms: Centurion and Ocean towers are the stronger bets; verify the view and smoking category.

  • Cleanliness: Generally positive recent ratings, tempered by repeated missed-housekeeping reports.

  • Service: Many guests praise friendly staff, but follow-through on complaints is inconsistent.

  • Amenities: Casino, celebrity-chef dining, spa and gym; the seasonal outdoor pool is for ages 21-plus.

  • Fees and surprises: Resort fee, paid parking and an incidental deposit; pool seating can cost extra.
