#5 of 9 hotels in City Centre (Kalekapısı) by Axel's take. City Centre (Kalekapısı) is #2 of 6 places to stay in Antalya. The best hotels in City Centre (Kalekapısı), ranked · Where to stay in Antalya

Axel's take: 7.5/10

A practical budget base where location and breakfast outshine the dated rooms. a no-frills 3-star city hotel near Antalya’s old town, scored for what it is.

Start Hotel is a no-frills 3-star in central Antalya, and we’d choose it for exploring rather than lingering indoors. The airport tram stops right outside, and Kaleiçi is an easy walk away. Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the helpful reception staff and buffet breakfast. For a short, budget-conscious city stay, those strengths make it a good pick.

The compromise is the building: reviews across several sites describe tired furniture, bathrooms needing attention and worn linens. Cleanliness feedback is mostly positive but not consistent, while street-facing rooms can suffer from traffic noise. Guests reported renovation work during 2025; completion is not clearly confirmed, so check before booking. We’d skip it if you need dependable quiet or a freshly updated room, and confirm parking arrangements if driving.

Best for: budget-conscious city explorers; short stays without a car; travelers using the airport tram
Watch out for: traffic noise in street-facing rooms; dated bathrooms and worn linens; renovation completion unconfirmed
Location: Tram access outside and a walkable route to Kaleiçi are its strongest advantages.
Rooms: Basic, air-conditioned rooms; dated furniture and bathroom wear recur in guest feedback.
Cleanliness: Generally satisfactory, but reports of worn linen and uneven cleaning temper confidence.
Service: Helpful reception staff attract repeated praise across booking and review sites.
Amenities: Buffet breakfast, free Wi-Fi and 24-hour reception; Expedia also lists sauna and massage services.
Fees and surprises: Expedia lists paid parking; confirm access and whether previously reported renovation work has finished.
