#6 of 9 hotels in City Centre (Kalekapısı) by Axel's take. City Centre (Kalekapısı) is #2 of 6 places to stay in Antalya. The best hotels in City Centre (Kalekapısı), ranked · Where to stay in Antalya

Axel's take: 7.1/10

A practical city base with a worthwhile spa, but uneven four-star standards. a modest 4-star city hotel with a basement spa, scored for what it is.

Elips Royal is a modest 4-star city hotel, better suited to a short Antalya stop than a resort holiday. We'd consider it for a practical stay near MarkAntalya, with breakfast and parking included. Booking.com guests praise helpful reception staff and clean rooms, while Tripadvisor guests often single out the hammam and massages. The indoor pool is in the basement, not somewhere to spend a sunny afternoon.

The compromises are consistency and polish. Recent Trip.com and Google reviews describe small rooms, worn furnishings and uneven housekeeping, alongside positive reports of comfortable stays. Service can be warm, but communication and reception attitudes draw repeated criticism. The busy-road setting also brings noise concerns. We'd skip it for beachfront relaxation or reliably polished four-star comfort; it makes more sense as a straightforward sightseeing base.

  • Best for: short city stays; sightseers prioritizing practical value; travelers interested in hammam treatments

  • Watch out for: small rooms and variable maintenance; inconsistent service and English communication; busy-road noise; no outdoor pool

  • Location: Near MarkAntalya, outside the old-town core; beach visits require transport.

  • Rooms: Air-conditioned rooms cover the basics, but guests repeatedly flag cramped layouts and worn fittings.

  • Cleanliness: Generally respectable aggregate scores, with some recent housekeeping and bathroom complaints.

  • Service: Helpful staff earn frequent praise, but reception attitude and communication are inconsistent.

  • Amenities: Indoor basement pool, hammam, sauna, buffet breakfast and free parking; no outdoor pool.

  • Fees and surprises: The hotel says hammam and sauna access are free for guests; massage and treatment packages cost extra.
