Hotels in AnchorageA lodge-style mid-range airport hotel on Lake Spenard
7.4/10
Pick it for airport convenience and floatplane views, not polished rooms.
The Lakefront Anchorage is a lodge-style mid-range airport hotel with more character than a standard overnight stop. Its lakeside restaurants and floatplane activity are the main draw, backed by free parking and a complimentary 24-hour airport shuttle. Recent Expedia and Trip.com guests often praise spacious rooms, comfortable beds and helpful shuttle drivers. It's a good pick for a night before or after an Alaska adventure.
The trade-off is uneven upkeep: worn carpets, tired furniture and noisy or ineffective air conditioning recur across recent reviews. Cleanliness earns more praise than criticism overall, but service is less consistent when problems arise. Expedia lists a nightly destination fee, breakfast is generally extra, and the hotel's downtown shuttle operates only May through September. We'd skip it for a polished stay or a walkable downtown base.

Best for: airport stopovers; floatplane enthusiasts; travelers starting or ending Alaska adventures
Watch out for: dated rooms and inconsistent maintenance; air-conditioning and aircraft noise; nightly destination fee
Location: Lakeside near the airport; convenient for flights, less practical for downtown exploring.
Rooms: Spacious with generally comfortable beds, but furnishings and air conditioning need attention.
Cleanliness: Mostly positive overall, with some recent complaints about carpets and room condition.
Service: Shuttle drivers receive strong praise; front-desk problem handling is more uneven.
Amenities: Lake-view dining, gym, private floatplane dock and airport shuttle; no swimming pool.
Fees and surprises: Destination fee listed by Expedia; breakfast usually extra, incidental card hold required, parking free.
