Axel's take: 7.9/10

A practical Disneyland budget base, with friendly service and a parking-policy catch. a no-frills 2-star motel within walking distance of Disneyland, scored for what it is.

Anaheim Astoria is a no-frills 2-star motel that makes sense when Disneyland matters more than hotel time. We'd shortlist it for its practical rooms, family-size suites and consistently praised staff. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly describe clean rooms and helpful service; Booking.com's overall ratings also support its appeal as a comfortable budget base. Fridges and microwaves make the rooms useful for longer park trips.

The trade-offs are basic surroundings and an approximately 18–20-minute walk to the parks, rather than a position opposite the entrance. Cleanliness feedback is mostly positive, though not unanimous across sites. Check parking terms carefully: the official website advertises free parking, while Expedia and multiple 2026 guests report charges. It's a good fit for park-focused travelers; we'd skip it for a polished hotel experience or the shortest possible walk.

• Best for: Disneyland visitors on a budget; families needing larger suites; travelers spending most days at the parks

• Watch out for: Conflicting parking information; confirm charges; Approximately 18–20-minute park walk; Basic motel setting

• Location: Walkable to Disneyland, but allow approximately 18–20 minutes to reach the parks.

• Rooms: Practical rooms with fridges and microwaves; larger suites accommodate families.

• Cleanliness: Mostly praised in recent Expedia reviews, with some contrary reports elsewhere.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring strength; reception operates around the clock.

• Amenities: Outdoor pool, hot tub and free Wi-Fi; larger suites are also available.

• Fees and surprises: The official site advertises free parking, but Expedia and recent guests report parking charges; confirm your booking's terms.
