A friendly De Pijp base, but compact rooms and renovation uncertainty need weighing. a compact independent 3-star opposite Sarphatipark, scored for what it is.

The former Arcade Hotel now trades as De Pijp Boutique Hotel, a compact independent 3-star opposite Sarphatipark. It’s a good base for neighborhood cafés, Albert Cuyp Market and public transport rather than a hotel to spend all day in. Expedia and Trip.com guests repeatedly praise the friendly staff; the hotel advertises renovated Boutique Superior rooms with air conditioning and new bathrooms.

Choose carefully: small doubles measure just 10 square meters, and recent feedback includes uneven housekeeping and noise. Major renovation disruption appears repeatedly in spring 2026 reviews, with another construction report in September despite happier summer stays; confirm work has finished before booking. Don’t rely on old gaming-themed photos without checking what remains. We’d skip it for wheelchair access—the hotel explicitly says its rooms aren’t accessible—or if spacious, consistently polished accommodation is the priority.

• Best for: Short neighborhood-focused city breaks; Solo travelers packing light; Couples choosing larger room categories

• Watch out for: Renovation disruption reported through September 2026; Very small entry-level rooms; Rooms are not wheelchair-accessible

• Location: Opposite Sarphatipark, near cafés, Albert Cuyp Market and tram/metro connections.

• Rooms: Small doubles are 10 square meters; renovated Boutique Superior rooms offer more space.

• Cleanliness: Generally positive feedback, but several 2026 guests report inconsistent bathroom cleaning or housekeeping.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a consistent strength across recent review sites.

• Amenities: Officially lists air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a garden, bar, breakfast and small lift; verify gaming facilities.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast may cost extra; city tax applies, no private parking, and renovation completion needs confirmation.
