Axel's take: 7.6/10

A practical, well-connected base, but room choice and summer heat matter. a no-frills 3-star design hotel beside Amsterdam Zuid station, scored for what it is.

Qbic is a no-frills 3-star design hotel inside Amsterdam’s World Trade Center, best chosen for convenience rather than canal-side atmosphere. We'd consider it for a short business trip or transit-friendly city break. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff, cleanliness and station-side location. Complimentary coffee, fruit and snacks add welcome value, while the rooms keep furnishings simple around big beds.

Choose carefully: No View rooms genuinely have no windows, and even windowed rooms cannot open them. Several summer 2026 guests on Expedia and Trip.com report ineffective cooling and uncomfortable heat. Open-plan bathrooms also make sharing less private. The WTC’s shared spaces are undergoing major renovation through late 2026; check likely disruption before booking. We'd skip it for a romantic stay or if reliable cooling is essential.

• Best for: short business trips; city explorers comfortable using transit; travelers prioritizing airport connections

• Watch out for: windowless rooms and sealed windows; recurring summer cooling complaints; WTC shared-space renovation

• Location: Beside Amsterdam Zuid, with easy airport and city connections; outside the historic center.

• Rooms: Simple furnishings and big beds; open-plan bathrooms and limited daylight in some categories.

• Cleanliness: Generally praised across booking sites, despite occasional housekeeping complaints.

• Service: Helpful staff are a recurring strength; 24-hour kiosk check-in with a night guard.

• Amenities: Free Wi-Fi and complimentary refreshments; paid breakfast, grab-and-go food and bike rental.

• Fees and surprises: Parking and breakfast cost extra; the FAQ also mentions a green fee, so confirm inclusions.
