#8 of 9 hotels in Schiphol Airport by Axel's take. Schiphol Airport is #12 of 12 places to stay in Amsterdam. The best hotels in Schiphol Airport, ranked · Where to stay in Amsterdam

Axel's take: 8.0/10

A solid airport stop with useful extras, but not an Amsterdam sightseeing base. a practical 4-star airport hotel in a shared hotel complex, scored for what it is.

Corendon Urban is a practical 4-star airport hotel in Badhoevedorp, sharing facilities with the larger Corendon complex. It's a strong pick for a flight stopover: recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise cleanliness, comfortable rooms and helpful staff, while Tripadvisor feedback is more mixed. The shared indoor pool, gym, restaurants and cinema give you more to do than at a basic airport overnight, and the retired Boeing 747 adds genuine interest.

The main compromise is location: Amsterdam sightseeing means a transfer, usually through Schiphol, rather than stepping outside into the city. Restaurant service gets uneven reports. Also check your exact building and room category, since reviews sometimes describe neighboring hotels and apartments. The airport shuttle is free toward the hotel but charged on the return trip; parking also costs extra. We'd skip it for a short, city-focused break.

  • Best for: overnight flight connections; families wanting shared leisure facilities; aviation enthusiasts

  • Watch out for: transfers needed for Amsterdam sightseeing; shared facilities in the Plaza building; paid return airport shuttle and parking

  • Location: Convenient for Schiphol, but outside Amsterdam with limited immediate neighborhood appeal.

  • Rooms: Generally comfortable; confirm the building and category rather than assuming apartment-style facilities.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength in recent Expedia feedback, with a strong cleanliness aggregate.

  • Service: Reception earns frequent praise; restaurant service is less consistent.

  • Amenities: Pool, spa, gym, dining and cinema are shared across the complex; check spa inclusion.

  • Fees and surprises: Return airport shuttle and parking are charged; the former city shuttle no longer operates.
