Axel's take: 6.8/10

Friendly service and handy trams, but renovation disruption makes this a conditional pick. a simple 3-star city hotel in De Pijp, scored for what it is.

Atlantis is a simple 3-star in De Pijp, best treated as a practical sightseeing base rather than somewhere to linger. We'd consider it for the neighborhood: Albert Cuyp Market, local restaurants and nearby trams make exploring easy. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise the helpful staff, while breakfast and comfortable beds earn plenty of positive mentions. Rooms are compact, and condition varies between refreshed and older accommodation.

The main catch is renovation work, listed through December 31, 2026, with completion subject to change. Guests across several sites report drilling and an unavailable lift; steep, narrow stairs make that particularly consequential. Housekeeping, bathroom maintenance and soundproofing also draw recurring criticism, despite many clean, comfortable stays. We'd skip it for a quiet retreat or mobility-sensitive trip, and confirm construction and lift status before booking.

• Best for: sightseers who spend most days out; travelers wanting De Pijp restaurants and markets

• Watch out for: renovation work listed through December 2026; reported lift outage and steep stairs; uneven housekeeping and room condition

• Location: De Pijp base near Albert Cuyp Market, with tram stops close by.

• Rooms: Compact doubles; some refreshed rooms, some older bathrooms, and windowless categories require careful selection.

• Cleanliness: Many guests find rooms clean, but missed cleaning and bathroom complaints recur.

• Service: Friendly, helpful reception staff are a consistent strength; problem resolution is less reliable.

• Amenities: Breakfast, free Wi-Fi, 24-hour reception and bicycle rental; no hotel parking.

• Fees and surprises: Check city-tax inclusion; renovation is listed through December 31, 2026, and lift availability needs confirmation.
