Axel's take: 7.2/10

Strong location and welcoming staff, but tired rooms weaken the five-star promise. a five-star city high-rise near the Old Medina and Casa Port, scored for what it is.

Sofitel Casablanca Tour Blanche is a five-star city high-rise whose location and hospitality are stronger than its room upkeep. It’s a convenient base near the Old Medina and Casa Port, with spacious rooms and mosque-and-ocean views in selected categories. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the staff, comfortable beds and generous breakfast. The indoor heated pool, hammam and spa add appeal for a short city stay.

The reservation is consistency. Recent guests across Tripadvisor, Expedia and Accor’s own reviews describe dated furnishings, damp or musty rooms and bathroom maintenance problems; some also report cleaning lapses and slow follow-through. These are meaningful shortcomings at this level, despite many positive stays. We’d consider it for a location-led business trip, but skip it if immaculate rooms and reliably polished luxury service are priorities.

• Best for: business travelers prioritizing location; short city stays; travelers booking a mosque-view room

• Watch out for: recurring damp and musty-room reports; dated furnishings and bathroom faults; uneven housekeeping and service follow-through

• Location: Central base near the Old Medina, port and Casa Port railway station.

• Rooms: Spacious with comfortable beds; selected views impress, but condition varies.

• Cleanliness: Many guests praise cleanliness, but recent reports of stains and cleaning lapses recur.

• Service: Warm staff are a consistent strength; resolving requests is less dependable.

• Amenities: Indoor heated pool, spa, hammam, gym, restaurants and free Wi-Fi.

• Fees and surprises: Parking is included; breakfast may cost extra, airport transfers are charged, and an incidental deposit may apply.
