Axel's take: 8.6/10

A strong convention-and-family choice, especially if you’ll use the pools. a large 4-star convention hotel with family-resort amenities, scored for what it is.

Hilton Orlando is a large 4-star convention hotel that makes a convincing family resort, too. Its convention-center connection is practical, while the lazy river, waterslide and pools give families reasons to stay put between park days. Hilton says its room renovation finished in December 2025; recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests back up the refreshed feel, repeatedly praising clean, comfortable rooms and helpful staff. It’s a strong pick for combining work with family downtime.

The trade-off is scale: with more than 1,400 rooms and substantial event space, this isn’t an intimate escape. A nightly resort fee, separate parking charges and paid breakfast also deserve attention. Complimentary Universal shuttles are useful, but this remains an off-site park base. We’d skip it for a quiet, small-hotel stay or if you’ll barely use the resort facilities.

• Best for: convention attendees; families who want pool days; Universal and SeaWorld visitors

• Watch out for: nightly resort fee; parking and breakfast cost extra; large convention-hotel setting

• Location: Connected to the Orange County Convention Center, with complimentary Universal theme-park shuttles.

• Rooms: Renovation completed in December 2025; recent guests praise comfortable, refreshed rooms.

• Cleanliness: Clean rooms and well-kept grounds are recurring positives on Tripadvisor and Expedia.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff earn consistent praise across recent guest reviews.

• Amenities: Lazy river, waterslide, pools, spa, gym and multiple dining options support genuine resort downtime.

• Fees and surprises: Nightly resort fee applies; self-parking, valet parking and breakfast carry additional charges.
