Axel's take: 8.3/10

A comfortable Loop base with roomy accommodations, but check breakfast and parking arrangements. a practical 3-star hotel in Chicago’s Loop business district, scored for what it is.

This practical 3-star in the Loop is a strong pick for business trips and sightseeing by public transit. Spacious rooms with sofa beds give it particular appeal for families. Expedia and Tripadvisor guests broadly praise cleanliness, helpful staff and the convenient location, although service is not uniformly consistent. We'd choose it for comfortable, straightforward accommodation rather than a full-service hotel experience.

The main catches are worth planning around: breakfast is not included with every booking, and there is no hotel parking or valet. The indoor pool is small and closes at 8 p.m., limiting its usefulness after sightseeing. Recent reviews also describe occasional housekeeping delays, while some rooms face nearby buildings with little daylight. We'd skip it if evening swimming, reliable daily servicing or a guaranteed open outlook matters most.

• Best for: business travelers working in the Loop; families wanting rooms with sofa beds; sightseers using public transit

• Watch out for: breakfast inclusion depends on booking; no on-site parking or valet; small pool closes at 8 p.m.

• Location: Convenient for Loop offices, trains, Willis Tower and the Riverwalk; the setting is business-oriented.

• Rooms: Generally spacious, with sofa beds; some outlooks are blocked by neighboring buildings.

• Cleanliness: Broadly well rated, though recent guests report occasional missed or delayed housekeeping.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff earn frequent praise, with some recurring check-in and follow-through lapses.

• Amenities: Indoor pool, 24-hour gym, free Wi-Fi and lobby dining; pool hours are 8 a.m.–8 p.m.

• Fees and surprises: Check breakfast eligibility; arrange paid off-site parking separately, and note there is no on-site EV charging.
