This relaxed 4-star Sheraton in Kapaa—not Lihue—is strongest as a base for exploring Kauai, rather than a luxury resort escape. Tripadvisor and Hotels.com guests repeatedly praise the welcoming staff, ocean views, comfortable rooms and poolside atmosphere. Nearby shops and the coastal path add convenience. However, as of October 28, 2026, Marriott says the hotel is closed, with cancellation fees waived through October 30. The local tourism association lists October 31 as the planned reopening; confirm directly before committing.
