Axel's take: 5.5/10

Convenient for Abids, but inconsistent upkeep makes this a cautious budget choice. a basic 3-star budget hotel in central Abids, scored for what it is.

FabHotel Deccan Heritage is a basic 3-star budget hotel in Abids whose strongest asset is its central location, near shops, eating places and Gandhi Bhavan metro. We'd consider it only if location outweighs consistency. Guest ratings vary sharply across sites, and several July–August 2026 MakeMyTrip guests praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff, suggesting some satisfactory stays.

The reservations are more than cosmetic: other 2026 guests describe deteriorating plaster, worn bathroom fittings and thin staffing, while Booking.com's cleanliness scores remain weak. Restaurant facilities were reported unavailable in March and June 2026; management acknowledged the March complaint, so don't assume a breakfast booking means an operating kitchen. Older Tripadvisor reviews reinforce the maintenance concerns, though they cannot establish today's condition. We'd skip it for a family holiday or whenever reliable cleanliness and service matter more than the address.

• Best for: budget travelers prioritizing Abids; short stays with flexible expectations

• Watch out for: uneven cleanliness and room maintenance; restaurant and breakfast availability uncertain; confirm couple and local-ID restrictions

• Location: Central Abids, with shops and eateries nearby; the official site places Gandhi Bhavan metro about 600 metres away.

• Rooms: Basic accommodation; recent praise for comfort sits alongside reports of damaged plaster and worn bathroom fixtures.

• Cleanliness: Inconsistent: July–August 2026 guests report clean rooms, but Booking.com's cleanliness ratings remain poor.

• Service: Some recent guests praise helpful staff; others report sparse reception coverage and poor service.

• Amenities: The brand lists Wi-Fi and a 24-hour desk; 2026 guests report no operating restaurant or kitchen.

• Fees and surprises: Verify breakfast arrangements before paying; MakeMyTrip lists restrictions on unmarried couples and local IDs.
