Hotels in BendA no-frills 2-star roadside motel in north Bend
7.3/10
A practical budget stop with useful extras, but uneven rooms and housekeeping.
Sugarloaf Mountain Motel is a no-frills 2-star roadside motel, not a full-service mountain hotel. We'd consider it for a budget-minded Bend stop with a car: parking, Wi-Fi and breakfast are included, and the seasonal outdoor pool is a welcome extra. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms and friendly staff; Booking.com feedback also supports its appeal as a simple, good-value base.
The catch is consistency. Rooms range from reasonably refreshed to noticeably worn, and recurring complaints mention missed housekeeping, maintenance problems and noisy air conditioners or neighbors. Breakfast earns both praise and shrugs, so keep expectations modest. This is north Bend rather than a downtown doorstep. We'd skip it for a polished getaway or if dependable quiet and spotless upkeep matter more than budget practicality.

Best for: Budget-minded travelers with a car; Short road-trip stops; Travelers bringing dogs
Watch out for: Uneven room condition and housekeeping; Air-conditioner and neighboring-room noise; Seasonal pool; pet fees apply
Location: North Bend near shopping and the Deschutes River; a car helps for downtown and the Old Mill District.
Rooms: Simple rooms with mixed condition; guests report both refreshed interiors and worn furnishings.
Cleanliness: Mostly positive overall, but recent housekeeping lapses recur often enough to matter.
Service: Friendly staff receive substantial praise, though follow-through on problems is inconsistent.
Amenities: Included breakfast, Wi-Fi and parking, plus a seasonal outdoor pool; breakfast quality divides guests.
Fees and surprises: Dogs incur additional fees and a deposit is listed; request a ground-floor room if stairs are difficult.
