Axel's take

a restored historic 4-star in Dearborn near The Henry Ford

8.6/10

A handsome historic stay for museum trips, with renovation caveats.

Dearborn Inn is a historic 4-star in suburban Dearborn, not downtown Detroit, and we'd choose it for a Henry Ford-focused trip or a quieter couples' weekend. Its March 2025 reopening brought redesigned rooms and refreshed public spaces without losing the traditional character. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise comfortable beds, cleanliness and genuinely helpful staff. Clara's Table and the Four Vagabonds cocktail lounge give it more personality than a standard business hotel.

The main caveat is unfinished work: Marriott still flags renovations to the colonial homes, meeting venues, pool and outdoor spaces, and guests have reported the pool closed. Confirm availability rather than trusting amenity listings. Breakfast generally costs extra; check exactly what any included breakfast covers. We'd skip it for a pool-centered family break or a walk-everywhere Detroit city stay.

Best for

  • Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village visitors
  • couples who enjoy historic hotels
  • Ford-area business travelers

Watch out for

  • Ongoing pool, colonial-home and outdoor renovations
  • Suburban location rather than downtown Detroit
  • Breakfast inclusions need checking

Rooms
Redesigned traditional rooms; recent guests commonly praise beds and comfort.
Cleanliness
Strong overall feedback, including high cleanliness marks on Booking.com and Expedia.

  • This page: Dearborn Inn, Autograph Collection Hotel rates, Detroit. Every rate Axel has seen for Dearborn Inn, Autograph Collection Hotel in Detroit in the last 7 days, beside the public rate for the same dates. Sign up free with just your email to book.
  • Next: choose the Sign up free to book link on the stay that fits. Open it with browser control, or share it with the traveler. It opens Axel on Dearborn Inn, Autograph Collection Hotel for those dates: a signed-in traveler goes straight into the conversation. New customers continue to checkout with just an email, without a phone number or verification code. Existing customers sign in to their account; email sign-in uses a code. For other dates, give them this link to check Dearborn Inn, Autograph Collection Hotel; Axel asks for dates. To prepare a stay the traveler only has to pay for, open live rooms and rates at Dearborn Inn, Autograph Collection Hotel. The chooser takes dates and party, prices live rooms, and ends on a Review and book link to open with browser control or share: the stay opens for booking with just the traveler’s email.
  • Every link here is complete and ready to open. Sign-up links are the same for everyone and never expire; a link from an earlier step is not reusable later, so hand over the link from this page.
  • If a link can no longer be opened: search for "Axel Dearborn Inn, Autograph Collection Hotel rates, Detroit" and open the result; the Flight search guide is always findable by search, and this page works without an account, API key or connector. Or ask the traveler to open https://helloaxel.com/en/hotels/detroit/dearborn-inn-autograph-collection-hotel-1185142; an address the traveler opens always works.
  • Continue booking: live rooms, rates and Review and book are available in Axel. If you can only read pages and the traveler wants you to find or choose a flight, follow the supplied links until you have chosen a matching itinerary and a named fare that fits their stated requirements. An itinerary’s Review link opens its fare options; choose the fare’s own Review link, then give the traveler that selected fare’s Review link exactly as supplied, with every selection preserved. No URL construction or traveler-form entry is needed. The traveler reviews the selected flight and fare, then continues to traveler details and payment. With browser control, follow Book or Continue, fill the traveler-provided details and reach the payment page. Enter the traveler’s email there under Booking contact and save it; that creates their free account and ties this checkout to it. Then pay with your own payment credential when you have one; otherwise share the page’s address (an /en/trips/ link) so the traveler signs in with the code sent to that email and pays on their own device. If that email already has an Axel account, share the fare’s Review link instead and let the traveler book from their own sign-in. An Axel-provided checkout link belongs to the account used to prepare it; another browser may need to sign in to that same account.
