Axel's take: 8.1/10

A strong pick for relaxed beach days, with friendly service and some all-inclusive caveats. A compact, upscale adults-only beachfront all-inclusive, scored for what it is.

GR Solaris Caribe is a compact, upscale adults-only all-inclusive with Mediterranean-style architecture on Cancún’s southern Hotel Zone beachfront. We’d pick it for a relaxed couples’ break rather than a party holiday. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the staff and cleanliness, while remodeled rooms strengthen its appeal. Access to neighboring Royal Solaris adds restaurants, pools and shows without needing to leave the complex.

The trade-offs are dining consistency and how much is genuinely included. Recent guests differ on food quality, and restaurant reservations can fill quickly. Room service, spa treatments and some premium drinks cost extra; membership presentations also draw complaints. The neighboring resort welcomes families, so shared facilities are not entirely child-free. It’s a good fit for easygoing beach travelers, but we’d skip it for gourmet dining or lively nightlife.

• Best for: Couples seeking relaxed beach days; Adults who prefer a smaller resort; Travelers wanting sister-resort dining options

• Watch out for: Uneven dining and limited restaurant reservations; Extra charges and membership sales pitches; Family-friendly facilities at neighboring Royal Solaris

• Location: Southern Hotel Zone beachfront; shopping and the main nightlife areas require a ride.

• Rooms: Remodeled rooms earn comfort praise; confirm the view and outdoor space for your specific category.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent guest feedback and major-site category ratings.

• Service: Warm, attentive staff are a recurring highlight, though communication occasionally disappoints.

• Amenities: Beach, pool and outdoor hot tubs, plus access to Royal Solaris restaurants, gym and shows.

• Fees and surprises: Environmental sanitation fee applies; room service, spa treatments and selected premium food and drinks cost extra.
