#1 of 7 hotels in Zürich West by Axel's take. Zürich West is #7 of 9 places to stay in Zurich. The best hotels in Zürich West, ranked · Where to stay in Zurich

Axel's take: 8.8/10

Strong comfort and sporty extras, provided you’re happy taking the tram downtown. a playful 4-star design hotel in Zurich West, scored for what it is.

25hours Zurich West is a playful 4-star design hotel that delivers on comfort, not just looks. Recent Expedia and Trip.com guests consistently praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and friendly staff; the complimentary minibar is another welcome touch. We’d pick it for a business trip or an active city break: the gym, rooftop sauna and seasonal 25-metre outdoor pool give it more substance than many design-led hotels.

The main compromise is location. Zurich West suits this contemporary hotel, and the tram stops right outside, but you’re not staying among the Old Town sights. Breakfast earns praise but attracts complaints about its cost, and parking costs extra. Accor lists the pool’s winter closure from October 31, 2026, through March 31, 2027. Skip it if walking straight into historic Zurich—or winter swimming—is central to your plans.

  • Best for: active city-break travelers; business travelers in Zurich West; design-minded couples

  • Watch out for: tram ride to the historic center; breakfast and parking add to the bill; outdoor pool closes for winter

  • Location: Toni-Areal tram stop is outside; convenient transport rather than an Old Town doorstep.

  • Rooms: Colorful, individual design; recent guests praise comfortable beds and the included minibar.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent Expedia and Trip.com reviews.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful staff are repeatedly praised across booking sites.

  • Amenities: Gym, rooftop sauna, seasonal 25-metre outdoor pool and Italian restaurant Ribelli.

  • Fees and surprises: Check breakfast inclusion; parking costs extra, and the pool closes October 31, 2026–March 31, 2027.
