Hotels in ZihuatanejoA traditional mid-range beachfront hotel on Playa La Ropa
8.3/10
A strong beachfront pick if clean rooms matter more than upscale extras.
Villa Mexicana is a traditional mid-range beachfront hotel, not the polished luxury stay its four-star listing might suggest. We'd choose it for direct access to Playa La Ropa, reliably clean rooms and a relaxed beach holiday. Recent Expedia, Booking.com and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the location and friendly staff; the pools and beachfront restaurant make spending the day here easy.
The trade-off is fairly basic accommodation. Missing room fridges come up across several sites, and some Booking.com guests mention compact rooms and minor maintenance issues. You pay for the beachfront setting rather than abundant in-room extras. Breakfast and parking can cost extra, so check your booking's inclusions. It's a strong fit for beach-focused couples and families; we'd skip it if spacious, fully equipped rooms or luxury-level polish are priorities.
