#2 of 3 hotels in Regent Avenue & Transcona by Axel's take. Regent Avenue & Transcona is #8 of 8 places to stay in Winnipeg. The best hotels in Regent Avenue & Transcona, ranked · Where to stay in Winnipeg
Axel's take: 8.1/10
A strong concert-night choice, with comfortable basics and a few room-condition caveats. a straightforward 3-star casino hotel in east Winnipeg, scored for what it is.
This straightforward 3-star casino hotel makes most sense when Club Regent is the reason for your trip. Direct indoor access to the casino and event centre is its standout advantage: dinner, a show and bed require little planning. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and friendly staff, while Booking.com also scores comfort and service well. We'd pick it for an easy entertainment overnight rather than a special-occasion hotel.
The rooms are practical rather than polished, and several summer 2026 guests on Trip.com mention unpleasant room odors; an Expedia guest also noted a hallway smell. Those complaints warrant attention without outweighing the broadly positive feedback. There's a gym, but the former pool is gone. Skip it if swimming or walking to downtown sights matters more than casino convenience.
-
Best for: Club Regent concertgoers; casino weekends; drivers visiting east Winnipeg
-
Watch out for: recurring room and hallway odor reports; no swimming pool; not a downtown sightseeing base
-
Location: Indoor casino and event-centre access; convenient for east-end shopping, less so for downtown exploring.
-
Rooms: Generally spacious and comfortable, with practical furnishings; some recent guests report odors.
-
Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback across booking sites, despite a smaller cluster of odor complaints.
-
Service: Friendly, helpful reception staff are a consistent strength in recent reviews.
-
Amenities: Aaltos restaurant, gym, free Wi-Fi and free parking; the former pool is no longer available.
-
