Hotels in WichitaAn aging, budget-oriented 3-star on downtown Wichita’s southern edge
5.4/10
Convenient for downtown events, but cleanliness and upkeep make this a risky budget pick.
This aging, budget-oriented 3-star works better as a practical overnight stop than a comfortable downtown getaway. Its strongest selling points are proximity to INTRUST Bank Arena, free parking, and rooms with microwaves and mini-fridges. Wyndham also advertises a gym and seasonal outdoor pool. Some recent guests praise spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and helpful staff, but we’d book cautiously rather than count on consistent comfort.
The drawbacks go beyond dated decor. Tripadvisor, Booking.com, and Expedia guests repeatedly describe musty odors, uneven cleaning, worn bathrooms, and malfunctioning air-conditioning or hot water; some also report pests. Breakfast gets mixed feedback, and several guests feel uncomfortable around the parking lot. There are genuinely positive stays, but too many basic failures for a dependable 3-star. We’d skip it for a family getaway or any stay where cleanliness and reliability come first.

Watch out for: inconsistent cleaning and guest-reported pests; aging bathrooms and unreliable room equipment; parking-area concerns and traffic noise
Location: Convenient for the arena and highways; several guests report parking-area discomfort and nighttime noise.
Rooms: Some spacious, comfortable rooms, but recurring complaints about worn bathrooms, AC, and hot water.
Cleanliness: Clean stays are reported, but dirty linens, musty odors, and pest complaints recur across sites.
Service: Helpful staff earn repeated praise, although complaint handling and housekeeping are inconsistent.
Amenities: Free breakfast, parking, and WiFi; gym and seasonal outdoor pool, listed as open June–September.
Fees and surprises: Hotels.com lists a service fee, incidental deposit requirement, and pet charges; confirm terms before booking.
