Questions families ask
Should we book two queens or two doubles for four people?
Two queens give each pair more sleeping width: a double is six inches narrower than a queen. The Sound, Maxwell and Watertown have two queens with confirmed four-person capacity. Mediterranean Inn and Four Seasons use two doubles in these categories. Hyatt Regency Bellevue has one queen and one double, so one pair gets the smaller bed.
Can we add a crib or rollaway to a room for four?
Do not assume an extra bed is allowed just because the hotel offers one somewhere. Astra has no rollaways, Cedarbrook excludes them from Deluxe rooms, and Hyatt Regency Bellevue excludes them from this category. Several hotels offer free cribs on request, but availability and room limits still matter. Confirm the full party, including any infant, before booking.
How much more does a room for four cost than a room for two?
The difference varies considerably by hotel and night. The family configurations at Cedarbrook, Maxwell and Astra show relatively small increases over the cheapest room for two, while some other hotels have much larger gaps. Compare the exact two-bed category for all four travelers, then check mandatory amenity fees, breakfast and parking rather than relying on the starting room rate.
Which Seattle neighborhood works best with children?
Belltown works well for walking between Pike Place Market and Seattle Center. Lower Queen Anne puts Seattle Center attractions closer. The University District offers light rail access and practical rooms with microwaves or kitchens, but is not downtown. Pioneer Square suits stadium and waterfront plans. Choose SeaTac for flights and Bellevue for Eastside plans, rather than central Seattle sightseeing.
Which rooms give us useful space without booking a second room?
The Sound offers 445 square feet with two queens, while Four Seasons starts at 449 square feet with two doubles. Residence Inn University District adds a kitchen and sofa bed, but published studio sizes disagree, so confirm dimensions. Astra's 249-square-foot room is much tighter. These options keep everyone in one room without relying on connecting rooms.
