Zona Piel is practical, commercial León: shoe shops, leather goods and shopping plazas around Hilario Medina, La Luz and the Central Camionera. Stay here when buying footwear is the purpose of the trip, especially if you want to return with purchases between shopping rounds. The official shopping map makes its close relationship with the bus terminal clear.
- Best for
- shoppingtravelers on a budgettravelers without a car
- Skip it if
- You want atmospheric evening walks; Leather shopping is only a passing interest
- Getting around
- Walk between the leather plazas and Central Camionera; Optibús L-01/L-04 serve Zona Piel and Central Camionera. Unebus links the terminal with BJX; authorized airport taxis are another option.
- After dark
- Treat this as a shopping-and-terminal base rather than a nightlife district; head to Madero for an evening out and return by taxi.
- Where to look
- Central Camionera–Hilario Medina. Start around the terminal for bus arrivals and repeated shoe-shopping rounds; this is a working commercial district.López Mateos–Plaza del Zapato. Choose the boulevard shopping strip when leather purchases dominate your plans, rather than expecting historic-center atmosphere.Calzada de los Héroes. Favor the Calzada end for walks toward the arch and central sights alongside your shopping itinerary.
