#2 of 5 hotels in Centro Histórico by Axel's take. Centro Histórico is #3 of 6 places to stay in León. The best hotels in Centro Histórico, ranked · Where to stay in León

Axel's take: 7.3/10

A practical downtown budget base, if you can accept aging rooms and uneven showers. An older, no-frills budget hotel in León’s historic center, scored for what it is.

Hotel Capri is an older, no-frills budget hotel whose strongest selling point is its position near León’s main square. We’d consider it for a short, inexpensive city stay: parking is included, restaurants are close, and recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms and helpful staff. Booking.com guests also rate the location much more highly than the facilities. It delivers useful basics rather than polished comfort.

The trade-offs are dated rooms, ceiling fans rather than air-conditioning, and weak Wi-Fi. Shower problems deserve particular attention: guests on Expedia and Despegar report unreliable hot water or poor flow. Cleanliness and service receive plenty of praise, but not uniformly, with a recent Tripadvisor complaint offering a sharply different experience. We’d skip it if reliable connectivity, cool rooms or consistently well-maintained bathrooms are priorities.

  • Best for: Budget travelers exploring the historic center; Short stays with a car

  • Watch out for: Aging rooms and inconsistent shower performance; Ceiling fans rather than air-conditioning; Weak Wi-Fi

  • Location: Near the main square, with central sights and restaurants within walking distance.

  • Rooms: Functional rooms with private showers and cable TV; dated condition and fan-only cooling.

  • Cleanliness: Recent Expedia feedback is mostly positive, though some guests report shortcomings.

  • Service: Helpful staff earn repeated praise, but reception and problem handling are not uniformly reliable.

  • Amenities: Free parking, Wi-Fi and an elevator; the official site lists weekend-only restaurant hours.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking is included; confirm restaurant hours and any luggage-storage charge before relying on them.
