Questions families ask
Should we book two queens or two doubles?
For two people sharing each bed, queens give more sleeping width. Lago Mar, Hyatt Centric, Pier Sixty-Six and Sun Tower confirm two queens for four guests. Sonesta and the listed Four Seasons configuration use doubles. Don't rely on a generic “quadruple” description: check the exact room name, bedding and four-person occupancy before booking.
Does a suite mean separate bedrooms?
Not necessarily. Club Wyndham Santa Barbara's Studio Deluxe sleeps four using a queen sleeper sofa alongside a main bed whose type varies. Casitas Coral Ridge's Queen Two Bedroom Suite has two bedrooms and two queen beds within one accommodation. HYATT house offers living and sleeping areas, but confirm the layout and dimensions rather than assuming a closed bedroom.
Can we add a crib or rollaway to a room for four?
Don't count on either without confirmation. Hyatt Centric offers cribs on request but no rollaways. Margaritaville lists free cribs, while rollaway placement in its two-queen room remains unconfirmed. Wyndham Garden lists neither. Four Seasons allows one crib on request but no rollaway in the two-double configuration. Confirm whether an infant counts toward the room's occupancy limit.
Does a room for four cost much more than a room for two?
The difference varies considerably. Lago Mar's two-queen room can cost the same as its cheapest room for two, while Pier Sixty-Six and Sonesta show little uplift. Other categories, including Margaritaville's two-queen room, can carry a larger premium. Search with both children's ages entered, then check destination or resort fees, parking, breakfast and any additional-person charges.
Which area makes the easiest family base?
Harbor Beach suits resort-focused stays, especially Lago Mar's private beach. Las Olas & Downtown works for walking to dining and Riverwalk, not stepping onto sand. Lauderdale-by-the-Sea suits beach days and nearby restaurants. Hollywood Beach offers the pedestrian Broadwalk south of Fort Lauderdale. Dania Beach's airport-area hotels are practical for flights and cruises rather than beachfront holidays.
