Questions families ask
Will we get two doubles, two queens or separate beds?
The exact category matters more than the hotel’s general family-room label. Staybridge’s verified suite has two queens, while Hilton’s Diplomat Suite has two kings. Cecilia, Dahab, City View and Golden Palace offer four separate single or twin beds. At The President, confirm whether the larger bed is king-size or double; descriptions disagree.
Does one booking mean all four of us share one bedroom?
Not necessarily. The President and the downtown quadruple rooms put everyone in one bedroom. Staybridge, both Sofitel suites, the St. Regis apartment and Hilton’s Diplomat Suite have two bedrooms within one private unit. These let adults and children sleep separately without booking two hotel rooms. Confirm the named category and register all four guests.
Can we add a crib or rollaway?
Do not rely on an extra bed to make a standard room fit four. These named categories already have beds for everyone. Sofitel Cairo Nile El Gezirah and Cecilia list free cribs for ages zero to two, subject to capacity; Hilton lists free cribs on request. The President has no cribs, and its extra-bed policies conflict.
How much more does a room for four cost?
There is no reliable same-hotel comparison here between a room for two and the named room for four, so a percentage surcharge would be misleading. Across these options, Dahab and Cecilia sit at the budget end. Large luxury suites cost substantially more. Compare the exact four-person category, including breakfast and any extra-person terms, before booking.
Which Cairo neighborhood works best for a family sightseeing trip?
Downtown around Tahrir Square is practical for the Egyptian Museum and Sadat metro; City View is especially close. Zamalek offers cafés, shops and access to Safaa Hegazy metro near The President. Staybridge suits Citystars shopping rather than central sightseeing. Hilton’s airport-area location works for stopovers, but means longer journeys to downtown and Giza.
