Hotels in West YellowstoneA practical mid-range hotel near Yellowstone’s West Entrance
8.4/10
A strong Yellowstone base with refreshed rooms and useful family extras.
Gray Wolf Inn & Suites is a practical mid-range hotel two blocks from Yellowstone’s West Entrance, and we'd pick it for convenience rather than resort-style pampering. The hotel says its full renovation finished in May 2026; subsequent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean, comfortable rooms and helpful staff. Kitchen-equipped suites, free guest laundry and heated underground parking make it especially useful for families and longer park visits.
The main trade-off is breakfast: recent guests on both sites confirm there's no complimentary spread, despite older reviews describing one. The indoor pool is useful downtime, but guests describe it as fairly small. Light sleepers should request a non-connecting room, given an August guest's report of noise through the adjoining door. We'd skip it if included breakfast or extensive on-site dining matters more than easy park access.
