The Breakers is a historic five-star oceanfront resort on Palm Beach island, not in downtown West Palm Beach. It’s a strong pick for travelers who want grand architecture, extensive dining and a beach-and-pool vacation without leaving the property. Expedia and Booking.com guests strongly praise cleanliness, facilities and staff; the overall picture supports its luxury reputation, despite occasional reports of impersonal service. Four pools, golf and a substantial spa give the resort depth beyond its famous lobby.

The main caveat is construction: the Family Entertainment Center transformation runs through spring 2028; Flagler Steakhouse and the Golf & Racquet Clubhouse are closed until late November 2026. South Tower room work continues through November 2026, with scaffolding potentially visible. Some entry-level rooms are compact for this class, and dining adds considerably to the bill, although there’s no resort fee.
