Axel's take: 9.2/10

Historic character and unusually consistent comfort make this a standout central Warsaw base. a historic 4-star near Warsaw Central station, scored for what it is.

Polonia Palace is a historic 4-star that delivers where it counts: spacious rooms, excellent cleanliness and an exceptionally convenient location near Warsaw Central station. It's a strong pick for travelers who want traditional hotel character without sacrificing practical comfort. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, comfortable rooms and the generous breakfast; Booking.com's particularly strong cleanliness ratings reinforce that picture. For its class, this is an unusually dependable choice.

The trade-offs are mostly about setting and extras. You're beside major roads rather than in the Old Town, which guests put around 30–35 minutes away on foot. Breakfast isn't included in every booking, and some guests consider it expensive. The gym and sauna are useful rather than resort-scale. We'd choose it for a comfortable city break, not a spa-focused escape or an Old Town doorstep.

• Best for: city-break couples; travelers arriving by train; fans of traditional hotels

• Watch out for: Old Town is a substantial walk; breakfast may cost extra; paid nearby parking

• Location: Near Central station, metro and trams, opposite the Palace of Culture and Science.

• Rooms: Guests consistently praise spacious, comfortable rooms; the style is traditional.

• Cleanliness: A standout strength across Booking.com, Expedia and recent guest accounts.

• Service: Recent reviews repeatedly describe helpful, friendly and professional staff.

• Amenities: Restaurant, bar, free Wi-Fi, compact 24-hour gym, sauna and bookable treatments.

• Fees and surprises: Check breakfast inclusion; nearby parking, pets and extra beds carry charges.
