Axel's take: 8.7/10

A strong-value Warsaw base with spacious rooms and excellent transport links. a comfortable 3-star city hotel on Warsaw’s Constitution Square, scored for what it is.

MDM is a comfortable 3-star city hotel that delivers particularly well on the basics. We'd pick it for a Warsaw break: Tripadvisor and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise clean, spacious rooms, helpful staff and a substantial breakfast. Recent Hotels.com reviews echo the cleanliness and comfort. Refreshed public areas and the Citizen Lounge give it more personality than a purely functional budget base, with restaurants and public transport close by.

The trade-off is the busy square: some guests hear traffic and trams, although others find the rooms quiet with windows closed. Request a quieter room if sleep is your priority. This is central Warsaw, not the Old Town, so expect to use transport for some sightseeing. Breakfast can cost extra, and parking is public rather than hotel-owned. We'd skip it if an Old Town doorstep or guaranteed quiet matters most.

• Best for: value-minded city breakers; travelers using public transport; families wanting more room

• Watch out for: traffic and tram noise in some rooms; not in the Old Town; breakfast and parking may cost extra

• Location: Constitution Square, with restaurants, trams, buses and Politechnika metro nearby.

• Rooms: Frequently praised for space and comfort; quieter-room requests make sense for light sleepers.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent guest reviews.

• Service: Mostly helpful and friendly, with occasional reports of a less welcoming reception.

• Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, buffet breakfast and the refreshed Citizen Lounge bar.

• Fees and surprises: Check breakfast inclusion; public parking is opposite, and small pets incur an additional fee.
