Axel's take: 8.7/10

Distinctive luxury and a strong central location, with a few practical compromises. A design-led 5-star hotel in Warsaw’s historic Prudential tower, scored for what it is.

Hotel Warszawa is a design-led 5-star in the historic Prudential tower, pairing exposed concrete with marble and wood rather than traditional grand-hotel decoration. It’s a strong pick for travelers who want architectural character, generous rooms and a central base. Booking.com guests rate cleanliness especially highly, while recent Expedia reviews repeatedly praise the staff, spacious accommodation and indoor pool. Two restaurants and a basement spa give you good reasons to stay in after sightseeing.

The trade-off is that striking design does not always mean easy living: Tripadvisor guests mention dim lighting, awkward controls and some noise, alongside less consistent service experiences than Expedia suggests. The hotel itself describes the gym as basic. Breakfast and parking can cost extra. We’d choose it for a design-focused city break, but skip it if you prefer traditional interiors or need a substantial gym.

• Best for: Architecture and design enthusiasts; Couples on a city break; Sightseers who want a pool

• Watch out for: Dim lighting and fiddly room controls; Basic gym; Breakfast and parking may cost extra

• Location: Central, walkable base near restaurants, shopping and public transport; not within the Old Town.

• Rooms: Generously sized, with distinctive concrete, wood and stone interiors; some guests find the design impractical.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall scores on Booking.com and Expedia outweigh isolated housekeeping complaints.

• Service: Recent Expedia guests are enthusiastic; Tripadvisor contains some less polished reception experiences.

• Amenities: Indoor pool, sauna, steam room, treatments and two restaurants; the gym is explicitly described as basic.

• Fees and surprises: Check breakfast inclusion; parking, airport transfers, pets and extra beds carry additional charges.
